United Aviate Academy gave us a standout visit. We flew in with Captain Theresa Claiborne, toured the facilities with CEO Michael Hales, and capped the trip by helping UAA OBAP members get set for conference travel the next morning. On the flight, our President and CEO, Rick Leach, and our COO, Terry Basham, treated the OBAP-bound passengers to a catered lunch and even took on the flight attendant role to serve meals. The energy on board and on campus reminded us why this partnership matters.

What we did:
- Met cadets and instructors to talk training timelines, interview prep, and life on the CRJ-550 flight deck
- Walked the campus with CEO Michael Hales to see student spaces
- Helped UAA OBAP get to the conference by flying members to Tacoma, WA
- Inflight surprise service hosted by Rick Leach and Terry Basham with a catered lunch for OBAP-bound travelers
Why it matters:
Moments like these connect students with real-world airline insight and open doors to pathways across United Aviate, United Aviate Academy, and GoJet. We are proud of these partnerships and the shared commitment to building a strong, inclusive talent pipeline.
Thank you!
United Aviate and United Aviate Academy for the warm welcome and inspiration. Captain Theresa Claiborne for leading the charge. CEO Michael Hales for the tour and conversation. And to every student who stopped us to ask questions and share goals.
