As summer winds down, GoJet Airlines reflects on a season of exceptional progress and prepares for even greater expansion. Despite challenges across the aviation industry, our achievements signal not only resilience but also incredible momentum for the future.
Recruitment Milestones: Building Our Flight Crew
This year has seen unprecedented success in hiring, thanks to a renewed focus on Direct Entry Captains (DECs) and Near Entry Captains. The numbers tell a story of transformation:
- Doubling DEC Hires: In just three months, we’ve hired twice as many DECs as we did in all of 2023.
- Tripling Year-to-Date DEC Hires: So far in 2024, we’ve brought on three times the number of DECs compared to last year.
- Near Entry Captain Surge: We’ve hired ten times as many Near Entry Captains as we did in 2023.
- Record-Breaking Upgrades: By September, First Officer upgrades to Captain will surpass all of 2023’s totals.
“Thanks to our recruiting team’s tireless efforts and focused investment since May, we’ve reached hiring success on a scale we’ve never seen before,” said Rick Leach, President and CEO of GoJet Airlines.
This recruitment wave is powering substantial growth, with December 2024 block hours expected to be over 60% higher than December 2023, and 2025 on track for a 30% year-over-year growth increase.
Fleet Expansion: Accelerating Growth
Initially planning for two to three aircraft reactivations by the end of 2024, our aggressive hiring strategies have allowed us to revise that timeline dramatically:
- Ten Aircraft Returning by Year-End 2024
- Four More Aircraft Back in Service by April 2025
This expanded fleet capacity will position us to meet rising demand more quickly, achieving growth in months that might otherwise have taken years.
Strengthening Our Partnership with United Airlines
The CRJ550 continues to play a vital role in United Airlines’ strategy, and our partnership has been instrumental in maintaining its prominence within the network. With 31 CRJ550s currently idle, GoJet and United have devised a plan to accelerate reactivation:
- Returning Up to Eleven Aircraft to United: These planes will join the United Express network, ensuring faster service reentry.
- Expanding the CRJ550 Footprint: This strategic move bolsters the program’s impact across the United network.
While this decision means some fleet changes for GoJet, it underscores our shared commitment to delivering value, safety, and quality to passengers. “Partnership is a two-way street, and United has supported us unwaveringly, especially in the last four years,” Leach noted.
Looking Ahead: Growth on the Horizon
Following these fleet adjustments, GoJet Airlines will operate 56 aircraft, with potential growth to 74 CRJ550s in the United program. With robust plans for expansion through the remainder of 2024 and into 2025, the future looks bright for our airline.
A Thank You to Our Team
Our achievements wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of every GoJet employee. You are the foundation of our success and the key to our continued growth.
“Thanks for all you do each day,” said Leach. “Please take care of yourselves and one another as we build on this momentum and strive for even greater accomplishments together.”
Here’s to a future filled with opportunity and success—let’s keep soaring!
